Ammon Playing Ball

We discovered that Ammon loves to play with the Spider Man ball the girls received as a party favor from Lincoln's B-Day Party. What is it with boys and balls? Afterwards he was completely exhausted and took a 30 min. nap.

Louisville Zoo

Saturday we took the kids to the Louisville, KY Zoo. Dallas and I were impressed with how clean and fun this zoo was, it included a tram, train, carousel, water park, and numerous playgrounds amongst all the wild animals who looked "happy" and well taken care of. I think we will be heading back shortly...we got a smokin' deal with Dallas being in the Army, so we were very happy indeed!

Here are the girls and I posing for a quick picture beside the giraffe exhibit.

Sadie wanted to know why the Komodo Dragon didn't have any wings and didn't breath fire!

Sadie, Sophie, and Sariah on the train.

Ammon and Dallas on the train.

Ammon did not enjoy the train ride as much as his siblings as you probably can tell, whenever the train entered a tunnel his body became tense.

I guess...Sariah was a little scared as well!

We brought the kids some extra clothes so they were able to play in the water, they enjoyed this so much! I think we were at the water park for about 30 minutes...we had to speed it up in order to fit everything else into our visit to the zoo.

Sweet Sadie standing in front of the gorilla image.

Sitting beside the hippo.

Fortunately, we were able to make it just in time to ride the carousel. This was the last highlight of our busy day at the zoo...well we did visit the gift shop where we bought each of the kids a stuffed animal! Overall our trip to the zoo was so much fun!

Fiesta Field Day!

Thursday Sophie had her field day, unfortunately, I was only able to take two pictures because my camera suddenly decided to die! Bummer! Sophie had so much fun dancing and participating in several relay races...not to mention she was also an awesome big sister as she let Sariah follow her around and participate as well! I enjoyed watching them both! Sophie is such a social bug! It is to no surprise that she already has so many friends! She proudly introduced me to her Teachers and little friends who in turn admired Sariah and Ammon!

This is Sophie dancing "La Cucaracha."

Friday Sadie had her field day, fortunately, I charged my camera and was able to take a little more pictures this time around! Sadie only participated in a couple of the relay races...she said she was a little shy, but I think she did a fantastic job! Like Sophie she introduced me to her friends and graciously let Sariah participate with her class.

Sariah out performed some of the 2nd Graders at the duck pond! The day before she also participated in this event and scooped up one duck with the net, which was the objective of the game for the Kindergartners. This time around, however, the objective of the game was a little harder. The students were asked to scoop up as many ducks as they could with the net. I watched as the students participated, thinking that Sariah would just scoop up one duck when it came her turn... to my surprise when Sadie handed her the net she carefully walked around the pool with the net in the water and captured six ducks in all! She must have been really watching the students! She did an awesome job! Sadie scooped up 11 ducks!

Putting my creative touch in our Home

The girls already have many drawings and paintings for the short amount of time we've been here in Kentucky. I placed the most colorful of their drawings and paintings in black frames and arranged them on the wall in our stairway landing to add a bit of my creative touch to our home.

Mother's Day

I am a lucky mother and wife! My children love me and my husband adores me! Mother's Day was a special day for me...Dallas prepared pancakes with strawberries for breakfast and salmon, rice, steamed zuchinni and squash with a garden salad for dinner! Much gifts were given...but the geatest were the sweet deeds performed that day!

Several shots were taken...as you probably can tell it was a bit difficult getting Sariah to keep her shirt down!

The Luck of the Irish

Okay... we are not Irish but Dallas found a four leaf clover! Our lawn is swarming with clovers, so by chance Dallas came across this good fortune and according to Wikipedia there is a 1 and 10,000 chance of a four leaf clover ever being found!

Dallas' good fortune yesterday included two amazing parking spaces right by the front entrances of Barnes and Noble and Wal-Mart!

To add to that note, Sadie and Sophie created some amazing caterpillar tree houses! They are so creative and have enjoyed our new backyard! Such great care was taken to create these amazing caterpillar tree houses. Each branch was carefully placed in the ground, which was then covered with leaves.

The New Life

It's been pretty hectic these past three weeks. The first week I spent my time packing and repacking our bags with the least amount possible! That was a chore. I packed and unpacked our bags a total of nine times to be exact! Each time the bags were packed, things were eliminated. I packed for three seasons; spring, summer, and fall. Then... there was the usual cleaning involved with moving...fortunately my mom helped me out with that. We also had movers come and pack our things up and put them into storage for the next six months. We left our home in Provo with sweet memories.

Saying our goodbyes at Jeff and Auntie La La's place.

My brothers escorted us to the airport where we said our tearful goodbyes and boarded the plane for our flight to NYC's JFK Airport. We flew the red-eye flight, which allowed Melissa and I much ease as we cared for the children on the plane. Once in NYC we strolled the terminal and searched for NY paraphernalia. We had four hours to waste and much sleep to catch up on before our connecting flight to Charlotte, NC.

Once in Charlotte, NC, I found some assistance for our five ginormous bags and arranged for a shuttle to take us to our hotel where we would eventually meet up with Dallas. I am pretty sure we were all in awe as we left the airport! The land in NC was breathtaking! I've never seen a place so GREEN!

On our way to the Hyatt Hotel in Charlotte, NC.

Upon our arrival at the hotel we unpacked and freshened up! It was a long trip and we made it! We were so excited to finally be able to meet up with Dallas! Words cannot express our joyful reunion! Months, weeks, days, hours, and seconds counted down the time in which we were a family again! Hugs, kisses, and some tears were shed as we each embraced Dallas!

Waiting for the arrival of Dallas.

Friday, was the day we dropped Auntie LaLa off at the Charlotte, NC Airport. I think...being so far away from the rest of my family finally really hit me at that very moment. I had mixed emotions as I held my dear sister...I was so happy to be with Dallas, but yet so sad to say goodbye. I then realized at that very moment how much I missed everyone..it was no longer an hour to six hour drive to be amongst those I loved so dearly, it was now so much more. We left the airport and resumed our trip to Kentucky.

That night was spent in Knoxville, TN. Like NC , TN too was GREEN! Green and beautiful! The girls and Ammon had a blast swimming with their dad. I had a blast eating such a wonderful meal with Dallas! Dallas always makes the simplest things so much fun!

Sadie swimming like a fish in TN.

The next day we repacked our things and were once again on the road to Kentucky! Dallas and I assuming that the night before was our last night in a hotel were extremely excited to finally settle in our new place! Boy were we so wrong! After calling the realtor we learned that the water and electricity to the home we had initially planned to rent was shut off and could not be turned on until the following Monday. This was a small little detail I had failed to get more info on...I just assumed every place was like Utah...with water and electricity already on! With that knowledge in hand we decided we would see what this home looked like out in Brandenburg, KY. The home was new and cute, but too far from Post. I have to admit...I am a chicken and didn't want to be that far away from Dallas so, we made arrangements to view an even smaller townhouse closer to Post the next day, which was Sunday. Again we spent the night in a hotel, this time in Radcliffe, KY, which is ten minutes away from Post.

A little bit of Kentucky.

Enjoying the beautiful scenary with Dad.

Sariah picking flowers.

Just thought I should mention that Sariah does this cross eyed thing whenever she feels like being silly.

Sadie, Sophie, Sariah and Ammon enjoying the ride.

I think we hastily signed a contract due to the fact that we were so tired of paying for a hotel each night. The home we signed on was a cute two bedroom townhouse that offered a washer and dryer, which was an extreme bonus at the time. It was not until we moved in later that day that we both realized a strong nasty smell lurking in the home...a smell that I could not stand! Dallas and I both tried to be optimistic and began preparing the home for our family. We purchased the things we needed, which by the way, were many. We thought we could somehow manage a night without electricity and water to save on costs, but after an hour in the house we realized that was nearly impossible with our four children! So, back to the hotel we went for one more night.
Monday we were finally back in the civilized world! Electricity and water were restored! The week resumed it's daily happenings and we continued to sleep on the floor with our sleeping bags. I think Dallas and I realized how important modern conveniences were that week. We went from no electricity and water to no furniture whatsoever! It was through the miraculous blessings of our Heavenly Father that Dallas was able retrieve housing on Post for our family. This is where we gratefully call home for the next six months.
