It's been pretty hectic these past three weeks. The first week I spent my time packing and repacking our bags with the least amount possible! That was a chore. I packed and unpacked our bags a total of nine times to be exact! Each time the bags were packed, things were eliminated. I packed for three seasons; spring, summer, and fall. Then... there was the usual cleaning involved with moving...fortunately my mom helped me out with that. We also had movers come and pack our things up and put them into storage for the next six months. We left our home in Provo with sweet memories.

My brothers escorted us to the airport where we said our tearful goodbyes and boarded the plane for our flight to NYC's JFK Airport. We flew the red-eye flight, which allowed Melissa and I much ease as we cared for the children on the plane. Once in NYC we strolled the terminal and searched for NY paraphernalia. We had four hours to waste and much sleep to catch up on before our connecting flight to Charlotte, NC.

Once in Charlotte, NC, I found some assistance for our five ginormous bags and arranged for a shuttle to take us to our hotel where we would eventually meet up with Dallas. I am pretty sure we were all in awe as we left the airport! The land in NC was breathtaking! I've never seen a place so GREEN!

On our way to the Hyatt Hotel in Charlotte, NC.
Upon our arrival at the hotel we unpacked and freshened up! It was a long trip and we made it! We were so excited to finally be able to meet up with Dallas! Words cannot express our joyful reunion! Months, weeks, days, hours, and seconds counted down the time in which we were a family again! Hugs, kisses, and some tears were shed as we each embraced Dallas!

Waiting for the arrival of Dallas.

Friday, was the day we dropped Auntie LaLa off at the Charlotte, NC Airport. I think...being so far away from the rest of my family finally
really hit me at that very moment. I had mixed emotions as I held my dear sister...I was so happy to be with Dallas, but yet so sad to say goodbye. I then realized at that very moment how much I missed everyone..it was no longer an hour to six hour drive to be amongst those I loved so dearly, it was now so much more. We left the airport and resumed our trip to Kentucky.
That night was spent in Knoxville, TN. Like NC , TN too was GREEN! Green and beautiful! The girls and Ammon had a blast swimming with their dad. I had a blast eating such a wonderful meal with Dallas! Dallas always makes the simplest things so much fun!

The next day we repacked our things and were once again on the road to Kentucky! Dallas and I assuming that the night before was our last night in a hotel were extremely excited to finally settle in our new place! Boy were we so wrong! After calling the realtor we learned that the water and electricity to the home we had initially planned to rent was shut off and could not be turned on until the following Monday. This was a small little detail I had failed to get more info on...I just assumed every place was like Utah...with water and electricity already on! With that knowledge in hand we decided we would see what this home looked like out in Brandenburg, KY. The home was new and cute, but too far from Post. I have to admit...I am a chicken and didn't want to be that far away from Dallas so, we made arrangements to view an even smaller townhouse closer to Post the next day, which was Sunday. Again we spent the night in a hotel, this time in Radcliffe, KY, which is ten minutes away from Post.

A little bit of Kentucky.

Just thought I should mention that Sariah does this cross eyed thing whenever she feels like being silly.

I think we hastily signed a contract due to the fact that we were so tired of paying for a hotel each night. The home we signed on was a cute two bedroom townhouse that offered a washer and dryer, which was an extreme bonus at the time. It was not until we moved in later that day that we both realized a strong nasty smell lurking in the home...a smell that I could not stand! Dallas and I both tried to be optimistic and began preparing the home for our family. We purchased the things we needed, which by the way, were many. We thought we could somehow manage a night without electricity and water to save on costs, but after an hour in the house we realized that was nearly impossible with our four children! So, back to the hotel we went for one more night.
Monday we were finally back in the civilized world! Electricity and water were restored! The week resumed it's daily happenings and we continued to sleep on the floor with our sleeping bags. I think Dallas and I realized how important modern conveniences were that week. We went from no electricity and water to no furniture whatsoever! It was through the miraculous blessings of our Heavenly Father that Dallas was able retrieve housing on Post for our family. This is where we gratefully call home for the next six months.
